Hi!! I'm Clever Apple! I got Band 6.5 on IELTS Writing and I'm studying Master of Education (TESOL) at Wollongong university in Australia. 

 

Today, I will tell you some expressions that can be used in IELTS writing task 2.

This article is about 'How to get Band 6.0 on IELTS writing, which is required to meet to enter many Western universities.

・In this article, I will tell some expressions that can be used for IELTS writing task 2.
 I learned from over 10 textbooks about IELTS exam.
 

 0. Why should we learn fixed phrases?

You may have difficulty studying IELTS writing, because of the unfamiliar test formats, short time restriction, and so on.

 

In writing task 1, you are required to write a 250-words essay in approximately 40 minutes.

 

Therefore, it is important to remember some expressions you can use in essays to save time and check the essay again. I will call the list that has some useful expressions, 'Expression List'.

 IELTS writing task 2 can be classified in to 5 types: ①Comparing the merits and demerits ②A social issue and the influence ③A social issue and the solution ④Writing about 2 conflicting views and your own opinion ⑤Agreeing or disagreeing with an idea (British Council).
 
Although the topics of task 2 are various and it is hard to make an expression list that covers all of them, there are some expressions that can be used generally.
 
Today, I will introduce some phrases that I personally think important.
